Building the future of health and medical research
At The George Institute, we believe we need to invest not only in the projects that will bring about significant changes to the Australian healthcare landscape, but also in the people driving that change.
Our researchers are the engine room of public health research and are at the coal face of much needed innovation in the sector. Whether at the early stages of their careers as PhD students, or Senior Research Fellows, our researchers are constantly challenging traditional approaches to health care delivery and are part of the Institute’s global network of medical and health experts.
There is a dearth of fellowship opportunities for early and mid-career researchers in Australia, with fierce competition for the few fellowship opportunities that exist driving many talented researchers overseas or into alternate careers. George Institute Fellowships support the brightest minds in Australian public health research to continue their work finding innovative treatments and solutions for the biggest health challenges of our time.
